One of my stray cats is missing

We have 4 cats that hang out in our yard and the ones behind us. The big orange cat has been around since we moved here. The gray showed up last year I think, as well as the black. This year, (or maybe last Fall) a 4th cat, also black turned up. He is way small and low man on the totem pole.

He was looking so skinny that I started to put food out about 2 weeks ago. They all chow down, the little black guy in particular. He usually comes by late at night but the other afternoon my husband saw him on the side wall and it looked like he had been in a fight - and lost. Since then I haven't seen him - perhaps the poor little thing is no longer with us...These were our visitors this morning...the little guy no where in sight yet again.

I think at two of the other cats may actually have homes - but the little black guy - he looked in rough shape..poor baby.

He is very skittish around humans while the others are not so much which is why I think the others may have homes and the little one doesn't. This not the kind of neighborhood where you want to be sticking your nose in other people's business - if you know what I mean so I have been very hesitant about call one of the rescue groups.

Oh how sad. I hope he's alright. I'm with everyone else, praying he's just out there getting better somewhere.

  9. Cats are known for coming and going--he may return one of these days when you least expect it. If he is feeling low, he is lying low for showing weakness is not good for kitties in the wild. I'm sending prayers for your kitty friend (and all the others) ! You have a big heart, Grace. :)

I'm a little over protective of those who cross my path - I just hate to see the cats out on the street - they may have homes - or not. They don't belong out here on the mean streets...

George said he saw him tonight - his ear is all mangled and he was eating a bunch...of the four of them he is the most afraid of humans so I think he is the one who never had a home.
